About

Meredith Collins is a multi-disciplinary artist currently living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . Machines, industrial equipment and systems of transport inform their process and end product. Meredith grew up constantly observing and drawing, at museums, in the car, or whenever they should have been paying attention to something else. Riding the train into Philadelphia and observing the harsh industrial landscape surrounding it, as well as  and visiting their mother’s chemistry lab were a few very formative experiences for their growth as an artist.

Meredith’s work is often about creating conversations about socio-political issues, which are tied to their own experience. Other works are about the highly tactile processes such as carving clay with their fingers. Meredith’s favorite materials are glass, clay and collage, and are often combined in a symbiotic manner.

M Collins is a multi-disciplinary artist currently living and working in Philadelphia, PA.

Machines, industrial equipment and systems of transport inform my process and end product. I grew up constantly observing the harsh industrial landscape surrounding Philadelphia, riding the train and frequently visiting my mother's lab were very formative experiences for my growth as an artist.

My work is often about exploring my surroundings and is heavily influenced by Neo-Dada, meme culture, glitches and the urban and suburban landscape I grew up in.

Some pieces seek to create conversations about socio-political issues, which are tied to my own experience. Other works are about the highly tactile processes such as carving clay with my fingers. My favorite materials are glass, clay and collage, and are often combined in a symbiotic manner.
